The history of the VRS is a story with a lot of movement. On the routes in the network area, but also in the further development of mobility.
It all began in 1987 when the cities of Cologne, Bonn, Leverkusen and Monheim and the districts of Rhein-Erft-Kreis, Rhein-Sieg-Kreis, Rheinisch-Bergischer Kreis and Oberbergischer Kreis joined forces to form the Verkehrsverbund Rhein-Sieg, and since 1996 the district of Euskirchen has also been part of it.
